First Homebrew commenced 17th Jan '09

So I've begun my first homebrew *finally* after much inspiration from Blake.

Initial gravity was 1070, not quite sure what that means...I think it needs to go down as the brew starts.

SO last night ~11pm I checked it and it seemed a stable 25-26C so I figured it didn't need to put on the heatpad.

MISTAKE #1

Got up this morning and its at 18C no sign of bubbles, it must've gotten too cold. I've thrown the headpad on now to give it a boost but I guess i'll cut it soon as the day warms up in the hope that it starts today.

Waiting to cross the street, in the chaos that is school holidays, I was a little lost in a new city and late for an appointment.

Just a few metres to my left there was a gentlemen selling copies of The Big Issue. Not just quietly offering it to people as they approach, but cheerfully entertaining and addressing the whole crowd as they wait. While curious, I avoided eye contact as I couldn’t afford the delay. The light went green and I crossed the street, eventually relieved once finding my destination.

I have come to the conclusion that the Krispy Kreme doughnut store in campbelltown has strategically adjusted the time they cook their original glazed doughnuts to the middle of the night so they do not have to give (m)any away as free samples. How have I come to this conclusion? Well after driving past the place twice a day during the week at the same time, and various times over the weekend, I never see the "HOT NOW" light switched on. Its a nasty way to take the best from the community, as those things are best when hot n fresh.

Since there's been a large number of search results turning up my site when people search for "in omnia paratus" - which was a slogan sorta thing on all my pages for a few months. I figured I should explain what and where I got it from.

I heard in omnia paratus on an episode of The Unit, which is Latin for "in all things prepared", at least according to the episode of The Unit that I saw.
