End of Year Review: 2009

Since it's now 2010, it's about time I shared some of the stats from 2009.

By far the most popular page for 2009 by hits was this poll. Which relates to the third most searched for phrase:

1. weeks - 440
2. hours - 233
3. nigella lawson hot - 162

I have no way of explaining "weeks" and "hours" but they're constantly in the top search phrases every month.

The most popular browser to hit my site in 2009 was Firefox at 23.%, followed by Safari with 21.2% and MSIE with 19.3%. This means that a fair amount of Windows users are using Safari as Windows (all versions combined) was the most popular OS with 34.2%. While MacOS had 24.6% - including 8 hits from pre-MacOS X! Of all the Linux OS's to visit, Ubuntu was the most popular. And there was even a single visit from a Sun Solaris system.

Apart from the 8 hits from pre-MacOS X, there was a few other oddities as well. 238 hits from MSIE 2.0 and a fair few hits from Netscape 0.91 right through to 8.1.3. With Netscape 3.0 getting 90 total hits!

There was even 46 hits from the Nintendo Wii's browser, and I didn't even know the Wii had a browser.

But oddest thing, to me, was that there was 3 hits from BeOS. w.t.f.

All these stats combined for a total of 3.12GB bandwidth pushed in 2009.
