My Mobile Phone History
A few weeks ago, Noisypoppy looked back on his mobile phone history. Now it's my turn...
Nokia 3315:
My first mobile was the trusty old Nokia 3315. I got it near the end of 2001 and it has to be mentioned just how sturdy and almost indestructible this phone was. I dropped it -a lot- and one more than one occasion threw it at a wall. But it just kept on going. It wasn't until years later that it started developing a few issues. But I held off a long time before eventually getting my next phone.
Nokia 6610
At some point, I gave up on the 3315. It served me well but it was on it's way out. I bought the Nokia 6610 after trying a friends one and coming to the conclusion that it would be a decent enough phone. But I quickly got jack of it's slow response time when I was doing simple things like navigating the menus. Otherwise, it was okay and I used this phone for a few years until the keypad started to die. But I did discovered that the easiest way of getting the keypad to momentarily working again was to basically slap my hand down onto the phone. A convenient way of relieving the stress that comes on when the keypad suddenly stops working when I was you're half way through typing out a message.
Nokia 6280
I spent a fair bit of time looking over many different phones before I settled on the Nokia 6280 (seeing the trend here?). It eventually came down to the 6280 or a Samsung phone (possibly the D600). At the time though, the 6280 worked with iSync while the D600 did not. This was also the first phone that I got on a plan, instead of pre-paid. Now this was a big change from my previous mobiles not just because it was a plan but because it had a large screen, the menus and buttons were really responsive and a 3.2 megapixel camera (side note: my first digital camera had 3.2MP also). Of course, as is common with most phone cameras, the photo quality was horrid. But apart from that, it was a solid phone. Even though it was a slide I still never had a problem with it, despite what many people told me. I used this phone for about two and a half years. This time, it was replaced only because I wanted to upgrade, not because there was something wrong with it.
iPhone
My last, and current, mobile is a 16GB white iPhone. What else needs to be said about that?
